For the heart sacrifice, you feel a light tap against your chest despite the empty cavity sitting in the center. But then it keeps going and it hurts. Each new tap past the first few taps feel like quick, sharp cuts and once those initial pains fade, what's left is the sensation of an open paper cut except it's radiating throughout your chest.

Your feelings have started to numb as your body focuses on the radiating pain. It's not like your feelings have gone away, but they're just a little bit more muted than normal.

A large crack loudly strikes through the crystal heart in the case. That singular crack is slowly spidering throughout the entire jewel.

For the heart sacrifice, they can feel this entire sensation, not just through their heart but through their entire body. It feels like someone wedged a spike through the center of their skull, and they can feel the feeling of their body slowly splitting apart, from their fingers to their toes to their scalp and of course, through the hole in their chest. A feeling of fear (or acceptance) can be felt as they watch their heart, and then a ear-piercing shatter echoes through the room. The crystal has broken into a hundred pieces, and the sacrifice will feel their legs buckle underneath them from the sudden shock of overwhelming pain that channels through the body.

But it passes. The body is whole (minus the empty chest cavity), yet they feel nothing at all. They want nothing at all. They're physically alive, but their emotions aren't there. Ah, that's right.
